Luc Castaignos is open to a return to the Netherlands. The 29-year-old striker has been without a club since July and can therefore sign somewhere transfer-free.
Castaignos currently trains for himself six days a week. “I think I can handle the Eredivisie,” Castaignos tells ESPN. “I know what I’m doing for it and what I’m leaving behind for this. I now work every day to come back and then I know for sure that I can still be in the Eredivisie.”
The former striker of FC Twente, who also played for Feyenoord and Vitesse in the Netherlands, has also developed clubs himself. “I’m not afraid to take the initiative and show myself. I can always train along and if it doesn’t work out then it won’t work,” said Castaignos, who does not want to say which clubs are involved.
“In the end it didn’t work out there, but as a 29-year-old I am no longer surprised about anything in football. But I do hope that I can participate in professional football until my 35th or 36th year,” concludes Castaignos, who lives abroad. was active for Internazionale, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sporting CP, Gyenongnam FC and OFI Crete.
