The Rugby Village is stopping off in Toulouse on August 26 and 27!
This Friday and Saturday, the Rugby Village of the 2023 World Cup is packing its bags on the forecourt of the Toulouse Stadium. Animations, small tournaments, initiations… there is something for everyone!
The adventure began on July 11. Departing from Lille, the World Cup train criss-crosses France to introduce the general public to the history of rugby and the finest event there is in the world of the oval ball. In total, this train-exhibition will stop fifty-one times, the last being scheduled for Paris next November. So at the heart of this journey of one hundred and fourteen days and eleven thousand kilometres, the Rugby Village will put down its suitcases on August 26 and 27 in Toulouse, without the train for the moment, which will reach the pink city in a few weeks. On the program, as usual, two days of exhibition, discovery to admire rugby in all its splendor. All teams already qualified for the competition will be presented in detail. Claude Atcher spoke about this initiative set up to offer another visibility to our sport: “It’s a project co-constructed with the SNCF. This train will be the link between the oval ball and the French. It will be a place of meeting and conviviality to connect fans and the general public to our event. Especially since it is on board a means of transport that respects the environment, in line with our objectives of organizing an event that is aware of its responsibilities”. The festivities begin this Friday at 10:30 a.m. First of all, activities are planned for the children of the leisure centers of the pink city. In particular, they could be introduced to rugby. Other activities will be set up by the Ministry of the Interior and France Pare-Brise in the morning.

After having tasted leather, perhaps for the very first time, the youngest will be able to see some of their idols up close. International players will be present in the city of Toulouse for a signing session. Friday will also be punctuated by a rugby fives tournament, “touch”, that is to say without tackle, of course. Note that this Friday, the mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc will be there around 5 p.m. As for Saturday, the entertainment will still be available to the general public. A job dating session for statutory refugees will see the light of day in partnership with Ovale Citoyen, as will an introduction to first aid gestures. In addition to all these platforms, it will be possible to test yourself technically. Small precision passing games, for example, will be waiting for you! Without forgetting the famous virtual image wall. As you will have understood, for forty-eight hours, the forecourt of the Toulouse Stadium is waiting for you to participate, in your own way, in the great celebration of the 2023 World Cup.
