Antibes, Strasbourg, Dijon, Beaune… and now Toulouse! From September, the city of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) will host a section of adapted football for kids.
The device is launched by Matthew Chicault, a teaching of adapted sports activity. He wants to allow children to 6 to 15 years old wear and tear from behavioral problems to be able to practice a sport that they like, in this case: football. Its sessions allow work on the motor and social aspect child and help.
It will be the football club of Toulouse Rangueil which will welcome the players in its enclosure.
“We started the initiative a year ago in Antibes, where we have a team that plays in the AS Fontenelles club. In anticipation of the start of the new school year, I contacted several clubs in France to see if any were As a result, we refer in particular to Strasbourg, Dijon, Beaune and the Rangueil club in Toulouse, which was very interested in the project!”
A workshop on Saturday mornings
This adapted football section will train on Saturday mornings on one of the pitches of the Toulouse Rangueil club. In training, it will not be Matthieu Chicault who leads the section in Antibes, but another man, already chosen by the organizer:
“The Toulouse-based coach has his diploma as a sports educator, but also a diploma to train adapted physical activities.”
The coach may have with him at maximum 8 children at the same time. If the described are numerous, it provides several teams according to age. They will take turns in the field on Saturday morning.
The very first training will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022. It will be in the form of an “open door” to the public. You can come and attend from 10 a.m. and meet the training of the section.
Register your child
If you already want to register your child for this section, all you have to do is get in touch with Matthieu Chicault. He will draw up a plan with you to identify your child’s character, which will then be passed on to the coach. It will allow to know how to react with the child and what it will be necessary to work with him.
“We look a lot at whether what we do through the sessions helps the children. We look at whether there are developments in terms of motor skills, but also at the social level: does he speak more, is he – what he feels better? Here and at school too…”
Once the plan has been completed, you will have to pay a yearly license for your child, which amounts to 350 euros. It includes the financing of premises, equipment and the trainer.
A great initiative in Toulouse, but Matthieu Chicault nevertheless confides that the help of two or three parents during the sessions would be a plus: “if there are stressful situations to manage, it’s good when the parents are there to help us too, with 8 children, it’s difficult, alone, to calm one down quickly. »
