For the start of the school year, the Rouen Normandy Metropolis is betting on “sober and efficient” mobility
The president of the community wants to make the Rouen Normandy Metropolis the “mobility capital of tomorrow”. And for this start of the 2022 school year, it is indeed mobility that is in the spotlight. Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, in the presence of Cyrille Moreau, vice-president in charge of transport, mobility of the future and active modes of travel, gave an update on the new features implemented from August 29.
A clever new network
It is a brand new Tip network that users will discover from this Monday, with new bus lines. The Cailly Valley and the North plateau will now have access to the line F8 (which serves Déville-lès-Rouen, Bihorel, Mont-Saint-Aignan and Bois-Guillaume), the line 10 (fast connection with the Campus of Mont-Saint-Aignan from Maromme to then join the Flaubert high school in Rouen) as well as the line F7 (direct link to the Mont-Saint-Aignan campus). For the Darnétal Valley and the East plateau, two new lines have been created: line 14 (which serves Darnétal, Saint-léger-du-Bourg-Denis, Mesnil-Esnard, Franqueville-Saint-Pierre and Belbeuf) and line 15 (merge of line 5 and 11).
The major changes occur on the left bank with the creation of the line F6 (from Grand-Couronne to Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray), replacing line 6. The old line 6 was restored by line 27. Two other Fast lines were put in place: the line F7 (direct link between the left bank and the Mont-Saint-Aignan campus) and the line F9replacing the 32 (from Elbeuf to downtown Rouen serving Grand-Couronne and Grand-Quevilly). All the information can be found on the Tip network website.
In addition, the Métropole has implemented certain measures in favor of the purchasing power of users: the reduction in the price of monthly subscriptions by 25% until November 6, the freezing of prices for the start of the 2022 school year as well as the extension of free on Saturdays (implemented since September 2020) and during pollution peaks.
The two on-demand transport systems, Filo’R and Flexo are evolving: new Flexo lines without reservation are created in the municipalities of Roncherolles-sur-le-Vivier, Saint-Martin-du-Vivier, Fontaine-sous-Préaux and on the loop of the Seine left bank; new drop-off points have been set up in Franqueville-Saint-Pierre and at the Duclair health centre.
Bike rental services are evolving
Things are also changing on the bike rental side with several new features: it will now be possible to renew a rental contract after one year; the insurance will be automatically covered in the rental price of the bike; folding bikes will be offered at the more affordable price of €28 per month for the first 3 months then €42 per month from the 4th month, and a bicycle purchase assistance system will be set up for people with a long-term Lovelo contract.
In addition, the Métropole has announced the distribution of secure bicycle parking lots. Nearly 300 places should be available. By autumn, a first 68-space car park, produced by La Ruche à vélo, should be installed near avenue Jean-Jaurès in Petit-Quevilly.
A new Covoit’ici between Rouen and Barentin
Set up in April 2022, the carpooling service funded by the Métropole will be developed in Barentin. At the start of the 2022 school year, a new Covoit’ici will be set up between Rouen and Barentin, “where about 250 drivers make the same journey every morning”believes the Metropolis.
