By bike from Toulouse to Sète
The Amis de la Cazèrienne cyclo association brings together cycling enthusiasts who multiply their outings on Tuesdays and Fridays on less frequented roads around Cazères. Two of them embarked on a new adventure at the beginning of the summer, namely to travel the 260 km which separate Toulouse from Sète by following the Canal du Midi.
Thus Michel Cuadrado and René Piera have split their route into 4 stages: Carcassonne, Le Somail, Villeneuve-lès-Béziers and Sète. The opportunity to reconcile the joys of cycling and the discovery of magnificent landscapes. An experience that requires a minimum of training: “It’s not very difficult but not easy either. Equipped with mountain bikes, we sometimes took very small paths, even single tracks. In addition, we were loaded with the wind in our backs all the way. We left in the rain then the sun and the heat arrived from Villefranche-de-Lauragais. We stopped in lodges and youth hostels and were able to admire incredible tourist sites, like the locks, the vines, the Somail bridge…”. On Sunday September 4th, the third edition of the La Cazèrienne cycle ride will be held. From 8:30 a.m., all these passionate cyclists will set off from the Quai de la Garonne. The opportunity for Michel and René to tell their adventures to the many expected participants.
