In Florence, the “Grape Festival and the Schiacciata con l’uva”, organized by the Historic Central Market of San Lorenzo, scheduled for Wednesday 14 September starting at 7.30 pm. Grapes will be the absolute protagonist of this initiative which will be held on the ground floor of the Central Market.
“It is a way to enhance the market, the San Lorenzo district and foster the relationship between residents and a merchant. An opportunity to taste the differences of the schiacciata with grapes prepared by the historic ovens of the district and of course the products of the Historic Central Market We hope that this evening is a good omen and a way to celebrate the newfound normality after the covid “, explains Massimo Manetti, president of the Central Market consortium.
On 14 September, from 7.30 pm, you can taste the typical products of the Historic Central Market and the crushed with grapes prepared by the district ovens. All this can be purchased by exchanging your coins for florins at the entrance to the Historic Central Market.
The evening will also be an opportunity to deliver the Labor Omnia Vincit award to three personalities from the San Lorenzo district who have distinguished themselves for their commitment in the district. The award, now in its sixth edition, was born from the collaboration with the scholar and historian Luciano Artusi who in Florentine history has found how the Central Market, as well as being in the heart of Florence, is located within the Leon d ‘banner. Gold, which has as its symbol the golden lion on a blue background.
