A very European pre-season program for AS Monaco

AS Monaco’s second EuroLeague campaign starts automatically from the preseason. The Principality team will play eight friendly matches, all against European clubs.
Like last year, AS Monaco will not cross swords with any other French team during the preparation. After its traditional pre-season stage in Bormio, the Roca Team will go to play tournaments in Italy, Germany and Turkey, where clashes with the double European champion (Anadolu Efes Istanbul), Bayern Munich or The Red Star of Belgrade awaits him in particular.
“As always, the pre-season is of great importance”, explains the physical trainer Diego Goncalves. “This year the duration is shorter, we will have to be efficient. We will put the bases that we need to put in order to be able to follow up as best as possible and to keep up with this infernal calendar when we move to Euroleague and Betclic Elite. On the intensity, it will be necessary to be progressive, and to gradually increase in power by limiting the volume to remain efficient throughout the season. What is also essential is to work well from a technical and tactical point of view with new players. We have to be efficient. We have already followed all the players in July to ensure that the efforts are repeated. They will be immediately tested, and we will follow it closely to immediately raise their level of performance. From my point of view, the most important thing is that the guys remain available to train and play. Which means they don’t get hurt. This is the priority. We will make them work individually, it is what is most effective for me physically. With the technical staff, we will prepare all the sessions, gradually increasing in intensity. We have to make sure that if some players lack skills, we can raise the slider without causing too much fatigue. There will really be individual physical work, and the basket collectively. This is what will allow us to be ready for the recovery. »
