Near Toulouse: a driver tries to stab the police with a kitchen knife
An individual attempted to stab police officers who were in pursuit with a kitchen knife.
The facts go back to the night of Sunday to Monday. An individual seems taken by a spatial and temporal hallucination. He drives at full speed through the narrow streets of Colomiers as if he were competing in the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. He takes the bends at the cordon, and exceeds the authorized speed by around fifty km/h.
The driver passes several times in the same place as if he was driving on a circuit. His ultra-dangerous driving is identified by a national police patrol which chases him but from a reasonable distance in order to avoid any accident. The license plate says the crazy driver lives nearby. The police lose sight of the racing car but on their way to its owner’s home, they come across his car parked nearby. They ring the bell at the apartment door and meet the individual’s mother who tells them that he ran away. The police quickly spot him and catch him on foot. The driver then tries to stab them with a kitchen knife with a 20 cm blade. The agents try to dodge his assaults but one of the police officers is injured in the right hand and tibia. They end up calling out to him as he still tries to hit them with his knife. He is placed in police custody, the prosecution will have to decide on the follow-up to the prosecution to be given either intentional violence against the police or an attempted homicide.
