Could Hungary also produce Bayraktar drones?
Colonel István Reserger, head of the National Public Service University’s military Department of National Security, shared interesting information.
It’s Resperger Info radio guests talked about the fact that the Hungarian government can also purchase Bayraktar drones developed by Turkey, which were prominent in the war in Ukraine, in the future.

The weaponized, remote-controlled flying devices can stay in the air for up to 27 hours and carry out reconnaissance, and in the Russo-Ukrainian war it performed very well during its active deployment, explained Resperger.
The colonel and expert expressed that the 12-meter-span, 6.5-meter-long drone can be equipped with four laser-guided missiles, so that it can strike the detected targets immediately.
Resperger emphasized that during the Russian-Ukrainian war, the drone was particularly effective against tanks, but the Ukrainians also managed to destroy Russian logistics centers with it, which was a particularly sensitive blow.
According to the expert’s report, the Hungarian government also eyed the drone, but as he said, it is conceivable that it would not be a simple purchase, but some kind of Turkish-Hungarian military cooperation.
Resperger also brought up the example of the Turkish-developed Gidrán armored military vehicle, which is to be manufactured in Kaposvár within the framework of a collaboration, and the Honvédség will purchase 300 of it.
In addition, the Gidrán is a useful and versatile armored vehicle, because Resperger explained that the approximately 14-18 ton vehicle can carry a crew of up to 11 people, and it also has several versions, from a command vehicle to an anti-tank missile carrier, to a troop carrier to minesweeper.
Resperger connects these knowledge that the Bayraktars can also be produced in Hungary, similarly to the Gidra, and here he also refers to State Secretary Gáspár Maróth, who says that he is not only trying to buy something, but to be able to take over the technology, the planning, the planning and the design.
