BB.lv: Russian language is studied in circles in Latvia
Educational programs on interests, involving the development of the language and history of national minorities, the governing bodies realize themselves both at school and in the composition, presented the head of the Seimas commission on acquisition, culture and science Arvils Asheradens.
According to the parliamentarian, currently hobby education is based on two main pillars – sports and culture. Education in frequency occurs as the third pillar.
A self-government has been found that will offer educational programs that will be of interest to the interests of national minorities, and in many cases this will be determined by increased regulation, the development of Asheradens.
As the head of the commission noted, the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) provided that private individuals also represent circles for students representing national minorities. Financial education tends to be widespread in local government, with few but distinct exceptions.
According to Asheradens, the government owns another affiliated school university or resources on its territory for minority interest classes.
As previously reported, the Seimas Commission on Education, Culture and Science in the second reading supported the amendments to the Law on Education and the Law on General Education, which provide for a phased transition to teaching only in the state language in preschool and primary education within three years.
