Anti-vaccination poster campaigns in Toulouse: two legal and administrative proceedings initiated by the State
According to the Haute-Garonne prefecture, two procedures have been initiated by the State concerning an anti-vaccination poster campaign in Toulouse.
At the initiative of the conspiratorial association Reinfocovid, many posters hostile to vaccination have been appearing on Toulouse billboards in recent weeks. A poster campaign which arouses the anger of Toulouse medical circles, revolted by this dissemination of false information on the public highway.

At the request of the Secretary of State for Citizenship Sonia Backès, “two procedures have been initiated by the State”, indicates the prefecture in a press release sent this Monday, August 22 in the evening.
The director of the Regional Health Agency and the prefect of Haute-Garonne send a report to the prosecutor under article 40 of the code of criminal procedure. “It appears that this poster campaign is likely to constitute an offense liable to criminal prosecution on the basis of article 27 of the law of July 29, 1881 on the freedom of the press. This sanctions with a fine of 45,000 euros the publication and dissemination of false news, in particular, when, made in bad faith, it will have disturbed the public peace or will have been likely to disturb it, ”specifies the prefecture.

A contradictory procedure has also been introduced against the Luchetta silkscreen paint company and the Reinfocovid association. This is “a prerequisite for issuing a prefectoral order prohibiting the poster campaign on the basis of the provisions of article 2215-1-3 of the General Code of Territorial Communities. They have three days to be part of their observations.
