Nice falls to Clermont, Brest and Auxerre finally win, Toulouse held in check by Lorient
After the draw between Strasbourg and Reims, the traditional Sunday afternoon multiplex offered us four matches, starting with the trip to OGC Nice, beaten by Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the middle of the week in the C4 play-offs, in Gabriel-Montpied to face Clermont, winner in Reims at the weekend.
A meeting which had started very badly for the Aiglons, surprised from the start of the match by the former Marseille Khaoui, who deceived Schmeichel with a low shot. Lucien Favre’s men were even twice outnumbered after the reds of Lemina and Todibo in the last 10 minutes. Evening to forget for the Gym, which will quickly have to wake up for the return barrage against the club of the Israeli capital.
Brest revives, Toulouse surprise
In the other games of the afternoon, Stade Brestois would seek the first success of their season on the lawn of Raymond-Kopa against Angers SCO, in particular thanks to a double from their Breton striker Le Douaron. Reduced to 10 after the expulsion of Sabanovic, the SCO included a third but signed Dari. His Moroccan compatriot Boufal reduced the mark but did not avoid the defeat of his team.
At the Stadium, Toulouse FC was quickly taken by surprise by Laurienté’s superb free-kick with the incoming bar to open the scoring in favor of FC Lorient. Ratao then Dallinga believed to offer the second victory in a row to the Violets supporters, but the Malian international Kon was returned to the two teams on an equal footing. Finally, in a match marked by four reds (Fayad and Savanier at MHSC, Niang and Da Costa on the AJA side), Montpellier lost at home to Auxerre, for their first victory in the league thanks in particular to Da Costa and a Costil XXL ( 6 stops).
