Belgium under yellow alert: what you need to know about thunderstorms
The IRM triggered a yellow alert on Friday, thinking of thunderstorms that should hit part of the country. They could be locally very intense, with accumulations exceeding 10 litres/m² in 1 hour.

LThe Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) has issued its yellow thunderstorm alert for part of the country, in effect Friday afternoon from 5:00 p.m. until Saturday 4:00 a.m.
Tonight showers will affect much of the country. They could (very) locally be intense and stormy, with accumulations that could exceed 10 liters / m² in 1 hour.
Then the weather will become generally dry from the west. However, the atmosphere will be hazy at times and in places some low cloud fields will be possible. The minima will be between 9 and 12 degrees in the Ardennes (even lower in certain valleys), and between 12 and 15 degrees elsewhere. By the sea, temperatures can stay above 18 or 19 degrees. The wind will be weak to sometimes moderate from west to southwest; at the coast, it will generally be moderate from west-southwest to west-northwest.
The alert concerns the provinces of Liège, Namur, Luxembourg, Walloon Brabant, Antwerp, Limburg, Flemish Brabant and Brussels. The IRM expects downpours that can be (very) locally intense and stormy, with accumulations that can exceed 10 liters per square meter in one hour.
