The smell of the great fires in Portugal arrived this Tuesday (16) in Madrid, the capital of Spain, warning the Spanish emergency services.

The two countries are fighting large forest fires that have already consumed more than 15,000 hectares in the Portuguese Serra da Estrela natural park, and 10,000 in the Spanish province of Alicante.
The fire in Alicante started with lightning that struck Saturday night. The fire spread quickly, with strong winds, and forced more than 1,500 to activate their homes, the regional government said.
