Anima Pinhel Drift Portuguese Championship
The Portuguese Drift Championship will complete its fifth round in Pinhel this Saturday and Sunday, in a competition organized jointly by the Municipality of Pinhel and Clube Escape Livre. In this year’s edition, Spanish, French, Swiss and a Brazilian, Bruno Bar, will participate, in addition to national participants.
It is known as the “Capital Drift”, it will prove that it will have the Intercontinental Cup, where it will participate in the edition of Michael Perairt, winner of the 2021 edition.
The program proposed by Clube Escape free concentrated for the Friday of the Pinhel Drift is over the weekend, with the technical and administrative checks and the briefing to be carried out on Saturday morning, followed by the Free Training, between 14 and like 18 hours. A new briefing precedes the dinner break and then the battle training session at 20:45, extending into a night of strong emotions.
Sunday “Warm Up” at 9 am At the start of the category at 10 am, with two groups from the Semi Pro category between 10.50 am and 11.4 am. The Initiates are on track for qualifying at 12:30.

The afternoon is reserved for battles for the Semi Pro and Pro categories (14:30 and 15:50), with the finals immediately after at 16:35 and 17:05, respectively. The delivery of prizes will take place at 18:00.
In the two drivers, at the same time, they play the lead car and the pursuit car. The leader has to improve what he qualified the most, or ride with more angles, while keeping more of the line and with even more style.
Behind him, and pressing on him, is the pursuit car, whose closest possible is to keep to the car in front, while imitating what the nearest leader does. Both need to perform the ideal drift in this high pressure situation.
The Fair Play Daniel Saraiva award will once again be given to evoke the memory of a driver who was in the first edition of Pinhel.
The Pinhel Drift will help define the definition and, in the PRO category, Vieira led by Armindo Martins and José Carvalho, but João Salvador still aspires to a place on the podium. In the semi-PRO category, the fight is tight between Hélder Alves, who now commands, and Joel Silva while Miguel Peixoto tries to defend his third place from Ricardo Antunes and Rafael Ferreira. In the initiated category Pedro Pereira has been imposed to José Júnior and Samuel Vergas.
Visibility to the county
Rui Ventura, from the Câmara de Pinhel, highlighted the fact that the municipality remains “committed to the success of Drift, a sport that has given visibility to the city and has brought many people to the territory.
