At the end of the 7 p.m. mass this Saturday, August 13, a man in his thirties left his luggage in front of the Saint-François-de-Paule des Minimes church in Toulouse. Surprised by the parish priest, he fled. National police deminers secured the scene. The individual is still wanted by law enforcement.
Father Nicholas Aayré, the parish priest of the Saint-François-de-Paule des Minimes church, had great courage almost bordering on unconsciousness. This Saturday, August 13, at the end of the 7 p.m. mass in which about sixty practitioners took part, the priest saw a man in his thirties with strange behavior, while he was talking on the floor of the religious building with some parishioners. “He was behaving strangely. He seemed drugged or drunk. This gentleman had a big suitcase on his arm. I immediately thought it could be dangerous. In the past, a suspicious package had been left in the church,” says the Ghanaian priest. The clergyman then goes up to the man with the suitcase: “He absolutely wanted to go inside with his heavy luggage. Inside the luggage, neither explosives nor toxic substances but religious books and statuettes of cherubs… The police are looking for this man to explain why he absolutely wanted to deposit this suitcase in this place prayers.
