The completion of the last stage of the Volta a Portugal, this Monday, will affect traffic in several arteries of Porto and Gaia. The departure will be at Avenida de Francisco Xavier Esteves, in Porto, upon arrival at Avenida Diogo Leite, in Gaia. Cyclists travel at 18.6 and cross the Douro River via Ponte do Infante.
“The constraints will be felt from midnight and for 24 hours, with the intention of parking in both directions of Avenida de Francisco Xaviers, the place of departure in a statement”, says the Porto Chamber, in a statement.
The Municipality adds that between 6 am and 9 pm the following arteries are cut:
– Avenue of the City of Léon, in both directions;
– The extension of the streets is extensive between Avenida da Cidade at 235 meters from the north;
– Casal roundabout;
– Avenida de Francisco Xavier Esteves, in both directions;
– Rua António Ribeirão Gonçalves, on the recommendation section between Alameda Arquitecto Carlos Ramos and Avenida Francisco Xavier Esteves;
– Ribeirinho roundabout;
– Avenida Artística Complementar de Andrade, in both directions, on the stretch beyond the Complementary intersection of Itinerary IC29.
“During the hours reserved for the passage of cyclists – between 12 pm and 7 pm – a series of lanes will also be closed to car traffic in order to guarantee the safety conditions for the event”, adds the Chamber, which in its place the list of all conditionings.
The final time trial of the cycling event will also force about two mandatory STCP Porto lines that operate in and in Gaia to be changed. The changes can be consulted on the website of STCP.
