Salt in the Transcarpathian region is produced for the whole of Ukraine
According to him, we are talking about the Bushyn salt deposit, which can extract up to 150,000 tons of salt per month by the method of underground leaching through boreholes from the surface of the earth.
“After preliminary geological research, there is a colossal salt layer that starts from 35 to 500 meters,” said Mykyta.
He allowed that engineering work on the construction of the access road, marking of drilling sites, places for workers, etc., had already begun. Modern equipment for deep industrial drilling was also purchased.
“According to the knowledge of experts, in 6 months we will have the first mined salt. The deposit can provide 100% of Ukraine’s needs for technical salt, which is supplied for road maintenance in the winter period. Now the country’s need for industrial salt is up to 450,000 tons per season,” said Mykyta.
At the same time, the head of OVA emphasized that after planned infrastructure development the company started supplying table salt to the population.
“We provided the investor with the most favorable conditions, agreed to consider additional options within the industrial park, which allow the enterprise to develop faster,” – added Mykyta.
Finally, due to hostilities in Donbas, the state-owned enterprise “Artemsil”, which previously provided 100% of the country’s needs, stopped, which led to a shortage of salt in the country.
After that, Odesa Region offered to replace “Artemsola”. We are talking about the Izmail deposit and possible mining at the Kuyalnytsky estuary, which has long ceased.
