Matildas Abroad: The season returns in Sweden; friendly match for Spurs in the USA
The season returns in Sweden; while Tottenham Hotspur begin their pre-season in The Women’s Cup in Louisville.
Starting in Sweden after a two-month break, the Women’s League continues its autumn season. Clare Polkinghorne and Katrina Gorry‘s Vittsjö GIK will aim to continue their top three win against Kristianstad’s DFF.
Kristianstads started their autumn season last weekend and defeated IFK Kalmar 2-0, however they are still three points behind first placed FC Rosengård.
Gorry and Polkinghorne both played the full 90-minute match in Vittsjö’s last game before the break, losing 2-1 to KIF Örebro DFF.

Away in Eskilstuna, Elise Kellond-Knight can be in line for her long-awaited return to competitive football when Hammarby take on Eskilstuna United.
Kellond-Knight made an appearance in Hammarby’s autumn pre-season match against Linköping, at the same time as Kyra Cooney-Cross and Courtney Nevin started in the match for Hammarby.
Both sides are still in the hunt to finish top three and qualify for next season’s UWCL. This match starts on Sunday evening at 11pm AEST.
Finally in Sweden, Remy Siemsens AIK is doing everything they can to stay in the OBOS Damallsvenskan, and avoid relegation, when they take on Piteå IF.
AIK have recorded just two wins so far this season, with one of these coming against Piteå in a 1-0 win in June. This match starts on Sunday evening at 11pm AEST.
Move over to the US, Alex Chidiacpp Racing Louisville takes on the Houston Dash. Houston is fighting for first place on the ladder and will want to keep the momentum going, while Louisville is still in the playoff hunt.
Ebony Salmon, who was traded from Louisville to Houston just a few weeks ago, will face her former club for the first time. The England international has been on fire for the Dash since making the move, scoring six goals in his last three games.

Move over to North Carolina, Courage host Chloe Logarzos Kansas City current.
Kansas comes into the game off a 2-1 win over Wave FC and on a nine game unbeaten run. While the Courage are stuck at the bottom of the table with just two wins. This match starts on Sunday morning at 10am AEST.
Emily Van EgmondSan Diego Wave FC will aim to bounce back from just their second loss of the season when they host the Orlando Pride on Sunday.
Van Egmond will face his former team, the Pride, who have faced three straight draws with the Rockets, their last match tied 2-2 with Angel City.
Wave FC have a strong record at home, have only faced one defeat at home and are still in contention for the top spot.

Meanwhile, Kyah Simon‘s Tottenham Hotspur kick off their pre-season in the Women’s Cup, against Mexico City-based Club América.
This will be Spurs’ first ever international tour, with AC Milan, OL Reign, Club América, Tokyo Verdy and Racing Louisville all competing for the trophy.

Away in Scotland, Jacynta Galabadaarachchi‘s Celtic FC play their second game of the season against Patrick Thistle.
Celtic began their season with an emphatic 9-0 win over Hibernian FC, with Galabadaarachchi scoring a first-half hat-trick, her first for the club.
Patrick Thistle faced a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Heart of Midlothian to start their season. This game starts on Sunday evening at 10pm AEST.
Moved to Denmark, Clare Wheeler and Angie Beards Fortuna Hjørring host Matilda McNamaras AGF.
Fortuna won 2-1 to start their season and will aim to continue those results when they compete in the UWCL next week. While AGF recorded a 1-1 draw to open their season. This match kicks off on Saturday night at 9pm AEST.
Winona HeatleyFC Nordsjælland will face KoldingQ, who are aiming to record their first win of the season after going down 3-1 in their opening match. This match kicks off on Sunday evening at 11pm AEST.
Finally, Tameka YallopSK Brann Kvinner plays its penultimate match of the season and hosts Stabæk. Brann is at the top of the table, five points ahead of its closest competitors.
