barca Y real Madrid move into the digital world
The move could suggest that the two Spanish soccer giants are preparing for new endeavors in the digital asset space and the metaverse. A judge for the presentations, real Madrid Y Barcelona could advance the offer of video game products, virtual environments and cryptocurrencies as a way to offer new immersive experiences to its fans.
It would not be a surprise if the rivals move in that direction, since both have been independently making efforts to advance new technologies.
FC Barcelonaeither the Barca, as it is better known, announced at the beginning of the year its intention to create its own cryptocurrency and launch its own metaverse. The club had partnered in 2020 with the digital asset platform Socios.com to launch a symbolic for fans. This month, it strengthened this alliance after selling 25% of the participation of its digital creation arm to that company.
The barca is also not new in the space of the records non-expendable (NFT), and since last year has launched several sports-themed collections. real Madrid had already explored the NFT craze in 2019, when it partnered with phantastec to convert autographs, videos, and other exclusive items into NFTs for your fans.
The European Super Cup champions have not made any official announcement about the possible intentions behind the recent brand registrations. It should be noted that applications to the UPSTO do not, however, mean that the organizations are developing or working on specific products or services on the topics in question, nor that they will pursue plans in that direction.
The real Madrid and the Barcelona they are far from the only big-name sports clubs to delve into NFTs, crypto and the metaverse. The teams Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain Y manchester city and celebrities like david beckham Y Cristiano Ronaldoare some of those who have also deployed digital strategies to provide new opportunities to their fans.
