The Belarusian economy survives thanks to five possibilities. This was announced today, August 10, by the Prime Minister of the Republic Roman Golovchenko.
According to him, this is, firstly, the diversification of sectors of the economy – the development of food production, manufacturing, oil refining, and so on.
“This really happened for a rising country: not a single one of those sectors that we inherited from Soviet Belarus was lost. This is the estimated value of financial resources, the exertion of power – and at the present time this is paying off. Because if there are problems in one case, we can compensate for this at the expense of others. This is the first factor in the sustainability of the Belarusian model,” – he said.
The second factor is the planned economic development. Golovchenko noted that because of this, many in Belarus continue to expand and expand, but admit that in times of crisis this is “one of the calls for survival.”
“Of course, our Gosplan is far from being the Soviet State Planning Committee, when everything is lined up in pieces – buttons, how many little things, and so on … We clearly know how much we are building housing this year, next year. We know how many roads and facilities that are included in the state program will be. It’s stability.” the Belarusian prime minister sat down.
The third is “evolutionary movement along the path of reform.” According to Golovchenko, there are no sudden movements in the country — “today we are leaving it, and tomorrow we start running along a different road.”
“If you notice, such shyness will not lead to anything good,” he recalled.
The fourth factor, according to the premier, is people. In this regard, Golovchenko noted that the Belarusian people are very hardworking, despite the fact that the authorities often talk about working harder.
He considers the balance between the industrial and humanitarian spheres to be the fifth pillar in the Belarusian economy.
“Still, we have a human-centric model. We are doing everything to develop in a balanced way both industrially and humanitarianly. We are analyzing the experience of other countries, looking at what things to take from them. Therefore, we have a balanced development of both state and private ownership. Due to the fact that we understand that private property will not pull the use to the extent that Belarusians are tied to,” Golovchenko asked.
Recall that Belarus has been living under tough Western sanctions since the end of 2020. The restrictions affected almost all areas of the country’s economy. Despite this, all the requirements for interaction with Russia, as well as the reorientation of the export flow to the East, are being calculated in Minsk.
