Start of the Liga Portugal season 2022/2023
The teams of the Football League of Portugal are already in full swing with the preparations for the 2022/2023 season. Also called Primeira Liga, it was created in 1934 and is now organized by the Portuguese Professional Football League (in fact, since 1995).
Since then, the tournament has been held by 18 teams, and is sponsored by the sports betting house Bwin, the Portuguese League is called Liga Portugal Bwin.
This tournament is also important for Portuguese teams because the best ones qualify for the Champions League, while the teams that don’t do so well in the championship, go down to the Second League (which would be like the second division of Portuguese sport).
The current Portuguese champion is the Porto team, with 30 victories and the greatest of all time, rival Benfica (holder of 37 titles). The two national champions of the tournament (ie the runner-up) have direct access to play in the Champions League.
Talking a little about sports betting houses, the Liga Portugal winning odds are highly disputed among Portuguese bettors, as teams tirelessly seek to prepare for the tournament.
Season 2022/2023
At the beginning of July, the competition calendar of the teams that will participate in the Portuguese League 2022/2023 was ready. On August 6th and 7th, Sp. Braga played against Sporting, in Minho, which promised to be an excellent opening game of the championship.
The others for the weekend are Arouca and Benfica, facing Porto and Marítimo. Further on, Porto will face Vitória de Guimarães. As we mentioned earlier, the Porto team won last season’s dispute and all the pressure to maintain the second championship is visible.
Another novelty for this one concerns yet another heavyweight sponsor that the League has acquired. In addition to the Bwin bets, SAERG has reached an agreement with the representatives of the League for another form of partnership agreement, in this way, for the evolution of Portuguese football.
These partnerships are valid not only for the League, but also for the teams and players that have the most support and support. In addition, it is possible to see the impact it has on Portuguese local communities, that is, there is groundwork being done for future generations.
And, for the media, it is also valid to mention Liga Portugal and always improve your search during the competition and season 202/20. To this end, Media Partners Day marked the meeting between the main media in the country in order to show the most important challenges for this season, such as the new UEFA competition model (in 2024) and the implementation of the centralization model of the Audiovisual Rights (scheduled for 2025).
