Scam and fraud: the University Hospital of Caen and the city of Courseulles respondents to vigilance

In the event of receipt of suspicious documents from the University Hospital of Caen Normandy, remain vigilant and adopt the right reflexes!
“These letters are, in no case, written and sent by the CHU of Caen Normandy”, continues the hospital which specifies the procedure to follow on its website.
“Scam in progress” in Courseulles
Tuesday August 9, 2022, after several reports, the city of Courseulles-sur-Mer observes, “an upsurge in fraudulent canvassing, in particular with individuals with the sale of calendars, but also with traders with the sale of false advertising inserts. »
These ill-intentioned people do not lack imagination to reach the most vulnerable people and divert them from their vigilance to steal or rip them off.
The municipality which enacts some good reflexes, such as:
- Ask for the professional card of the company representative or the municipal police officer
- Find out about the company and its prices before signing any documents or giving a response
- check the order form or the contract, often backdated to avoid the withdrawal period
- Do not provide personal documents
