According to media reports, several streams burst their banks in Gerlos in the Zillertal, resulting in flooding on the streets. There were lockdowns. In addition, some basements were under water. In the Sellraintal (district of Innsbruck-Land), a mudflow blocks a road near St. Sigmund.
According to the fire brigade, rubble is accumulating between several houses in Gerlos. Help from fire brigades from surrounding communities was requested. No one should have been injured, according to the police press office for the APA. In the municipal area of Ranggen, the Rettenbach overflowed due to heavy rainfall, so that there was also a mudslide, the police said. The clean-up work was carried out by the Ranggen fire brigade, no people or vehicles were injured.
Carinthia storm with heavy rain and hail
There were also storms with heavy rain and hail in Carinthia. In the villages of Paternion and Feistritz an der Drau (Villach district), the ground on sloping agricultural land was no longer able to absorb the precipitation, according to a police report. As a result, the Drautal Straße (B 100) was completely flooded over a length of around 200 meters. A tree was also uprooted, which also created the road. The section of the B 100 in question was closed to all traffic. Local lines were set up. After the clean-up work, Drautal Strasse was reopened at 7.40 p.m.
