ProToiro estimates that there will be 200 bullfights in Portugal this season
The ProToiro-Federação Portuguesa de Tauromaquia announced this Saturday that, by the end of the season, the number of tours that will take place in Portugal reaches 200, despite the 23% VAT “which limits the recovery and growth of the sector”.
“By the end of the season, on the first weekend of November, 160 bullfights are already announced, but with the months of September and October still with many races to be announced, the final number of 2022 could be around 200”, says ProToiro. in a note sent to JN.

The Federation also highlights that “the 2022 bullfighting season is marked by the return to a new normality where the scars of the pandemic are visible in the lives and economy of the Portuguese”.
