Toulouse: the tipsy partygoer falls asleep on a bench, two men pick his pockets under the eyes of the cameras
Asleep on a bench, a young man was the victim of two pickpockets overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in Toulouse.
He hadn’t realized anything when the police woke him up. A young man spent a very drunk evening in the night from Wednesday to Thursday in the Arnaud-Bernard sector in Toulouse. Hazy by alcohol, he sat down on a public bench on which he ended up falling asleep around 5:30 a.m.
The occasion was too good for two boys who were just passing by. They picked his pockets. The thieves seized their victim’s mobile phone but also his wallet containing his identity documents and bank card.
Places in police custody
The operation took place in complete discretion but it was without counting on the operators behind the screens of the city’s video protection cameras who did not miss a beat.
A patrol was dispatched to the scene and arrested the two suspects, aged 18 and 38, already known to the courts. Placed in police custody, they denied the facts before admitting to the evidence. The victim, a 27-year-old man, had not noticed anything when the police woke him up. His belongings were returned to him. He filed a complaint.
