Moissac. Toulouse Hot Club dusts off jazz in concert soon
Note in your summer diary, the Toulouse group will have adapted to the city on August 13th.
On August 13 at 9.30 p.m., the Toulouse Hot Club group will be in concert in Moissac, in front of the famous gate of the abbey as part of the Summer Parvis organized by the city.
This multifaceted Swing – New Orleans – Rhythm & Blues quintet was born in 2018 from the meeting of people with different musical sensibilities (swing, hip-hop, funk). This is an atypical formula in jazz bringing together 5 musicians for 10 instruments. A musical event not to be missed.
A growing orchestra
It’s been 3 years since these musicians met, from New Orleans jazz, RnB or swing, a musical melting pot that is starting to take on a tour. They started with concerts in town then put their songs on internet platforms and during the last quarter of 2021 set up a crowdfunding project, which exceeded their forecast to finance their first album, recorded in stride.
The originality here is that each musician plays several instruments professionally. In their repertoire, there are classics or jazz standards arranged in their own way, and more and more personal compositions which motivated them for their first album.
Aged 26 to 42, the artists are far from the clichés of jazzmen and don’t hesitate to wear quirky looks. They will offer the Moissagais an exceptional show and will know how to make even the most resistant dance.
