It is necessary for Bulgaria to have its own special envoy for the Western Balkans
Sofia. It is necessary for Bulgaria to have its own special envoy for the Western Balkans, he said in an interview for the program “This is Bulgaria” on Radio “Focus” Ilhan Kyuchuk – MEP from the “Renew Europe” group and co-chairman of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.
“This idea is very relevant: together with the valued envoys of the USA, Great Britain, Austria, Germany, Slovenia is on the way to have its own envoy for the Western Balkans, we want Bulgaria to be at the table where the future of the region is discussed. This is not only as a geopolitical orientation, it is also familiar with economic connections, transport awareness, with digital development, with innovation and with future-oriented education. Bulgaria would only gain from this. I am using the opportunity of your authoritative media to promote this idea, so that it is neither perceived as a formal approach by a Bulgarian MEP, nor as an idea proposed, you see, by an opposition political party, but to look at the essence and the meaning of what is offered”, added Ilhan Kyuchuk.
According to the other thing, what Bulgaria needs is a very clear policy definition in the direction of the Western Balkans, much more focused, much more responsible and, of course, result-oriented, as any foreign policy should be. Kyuchuk is convinced that Bulgaria can do a lot for regional security, and the only place where it can offer models for integration and lead countries in a valuable direction is the Balkans.
