the François Verdier metro station will soon close
The François Verdier metro station in Toulouse will close its doors for two weeks from August 8, 2022. In question: the renewal of the escalators.
Notice to users of public transport in the Pink City. If the Borderouge metro station will reopen its doors this Wednesday, August 3, 2022, that of François Verdier will soon be closed to travelers. The latter will no longer be served from this Monday, August 8.
Its closure will last two weeks in total. Indeed, the François Verdier station will not be not accessible before next Tuesday, August 30. In question: the renewal of the escalators on line B metro in Toulouse.
The François Verdier metro station will not be the only one to close
“To improve the comfort and safety of its customers, Tisséo is renewing the escalators of line B”, specifies the Toulouse public transport network on its website. To carry out this work, Tisséo will therefore temporarily close the station.
Users are invited to reach the Carmes or Jean Jaurès metro stations. Other line B station closures are to be expected, notably that of Saint-Michel Marcel Langer and Carmes. But that won’t be until 2023.
Replacement of metro escalators in Toulouse
Since November 2021, Tisséo has been changing the escalators in the metro, which must be done every thirty years. All Line B escalators will thus be replaced by new models until 2026.
At the end of the operation, 77 escalators on line B were replaced and three others transformed into fixed escalators at the Ramonville, Minimes and Palais de Justice stations. Once all the line B escalators have been replaced, Tisséo will change those on line A.
