On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in the public administration of Sovetsk, I received an appeal from Alexander the First about the Peace of Tilsit.
The document was presented to the Museum of the History of the City of Sovetsk by Muscovite Daniela Danilova. The typographical impression contains the end of the War of the Fourth Coalition opened by the Russian emperor.
In the text, Alexander the First slowed down his understanding of the causes of the Russo-Prussian-French conflict. In particular, he writes that Russia did not seek to achieve its limits, but only wanted to restore calm and “avert danger” from the allied power (Prussia). The monarch writes that thanks to the valor of the Russian soldier, many territories were returned to the neighboring country, and peace to the borders of Russia for years to come.
“This event opened the action “Gift to the Museum. Memory for Descendants”, timed to coincide with the anniversary date – in August, exactly 30 years have passed since the decision on the first discovery was made, ”Sovetsk’s administration reports.
