This carved rose window did you say something? If you are from Rouen, it’s normal ! It is indeed a reproduction of the rosette which adorns Saint-Maclou church.
This incredible reproduction was stopped on Saturday July 30, 2022. But to see it in real life, you will have to go to La Karrière, in Côte d’Or.
An identical reproduction of the rose window of Saint-Maclou
It is, as its name suggests, an old stone quarry located in Villars-Fontaine. The place has been cleaned, secured and enhanced by the Villart association to install a place of artistic creation and organize a festival dedicated to street-art.
From the stone itself, the craftsman Serge Moret has therefore carved a reproduction of the rose window of the Saint-Maclou church.
The result is in any case striking and does honor to one of the most beautiful churches in Rouen.
