Fire: The fronts in Halkidiki and Thessaloniki are under complete control
The two fires that broke out today, both in dry grass, in the area of the Malgari toll road in Thessaloniki and in Kallikrateia, Halkidiki, were put under complete control.
The fire in Halkidiki occurred shortly before 2 in the afternoon, parallel to the coastal road of the provincial road, which connects Kallikrateia with Sozopoli. Three vehicles with six firefighters tried to extinguish it, while despite the fact that it has been brought under full control, a fire engine remains at the scene in case of a rekindling.
The fire in Thessaloniki occurred at a distance of about 200 meters from the Malgari toll road, upstream towards Thessaloniki, while three fire engines with about 6 firefighters immediately rushed to the scene to put it out.
There was a traffic jam at the point on the national highway to Thessaloniki, while the Traffic Authority is in the area to regulate traffic, according to APE-MPE. At 12:30 p.m., no vehicles were passing through the Malgari tollbooth.
