European Championship eventing: British team wins gold on home soil, Netherlands sixth
After the final leg of the European Junior Eventing Championship in Hartpury, the British team has moved up to the leading position. Germany entered the show jumping course as the favorite, but was eventually overtaken by Great Britain and Ireland and settled for bronze. The Dutch team finished in sixth place. Sophie Weening achieved the best individual result with a thirteenth place.
There is individual gold for Mathies Rüder and Bon Bon (by Bolshoi). The German started the European Championship with the leading position in dressage (25.2 penalty points) and has not relinquished the lead of a clear cross and clear jumping course. Britain’s Isabelle Cook was awarded the silver (26.6 penalties) and Italy’s Giulia Margherita Wilma Pavesi took the bronze (29.9 penalties).
Weening and Jimmy Cho M (by Starpower) finished in thirteenth place with 35.1 points, Maxime Karman was achieved Funi Strona (by Delamanga) 25th.
