PSV lose striker ahead of Monaco duel
PSV Eindhoven confirmed on Saturday the ankle injury of Nodi Madueke, their 20-year-old English winger. He will be absent for the double confrontation of the 3rd preliminary round of the Champions League against AS Monaco, whose first leg will take place this Tuesday at Louis-II.
Like last year, Monaco will have to go through the 3rd preliminary round of the Champions League to try to join the group stage of C1. After taking out Sparta Prague last summer, the Monegasque club fell to Shakhtar Donetsk in the play-off. This time, it’s PSV Eindhoven who come up against Philippe Clément’s team. The necessary formation will nevertheless have to play without Noni Madueke, injured.

PSV contest the Dutch Super Cup this Saturday
The 20-year-old England winger, considered a great hope for British football, suffered a minor ankle injury in training and is expected to miss the first half of the season. Consequently, he will not be present during the first leg at the Louis-II stadium on Tuesday (8 p.m.).
Trained at PSV, where he is under contract until 2025, Nori Madueke participated in 34 games in all competitions last season, for 9 goals and 6 assists. But he had already experienced several sidelines due to several injuries. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team will play the Dutch Supercup match this Saturday against Ajax Amsterdam.
Second in the last Eredivisie season, PSV Eindhoven must also go through this third preliminary round, finding the third in Ligue 1. In recent weeks, PSV has been rather active on the transfer window with the arrivals in particular of Walter Benitez, Xavi Simons or Luuk de Jong.
