Level 2 rain warnings are in effect for the north of Slovakia. The storm warning level has also been raised for some districts in the east of Slovakia. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) informs about this on the social network.
Meteorologists expect a total of 75 to 90 millimeters of precipitation in the districts of Čadca, Námestovo, Tvrdošín, Liptovský Mikuláš and Poprad. Part of the precipitation is expected to fall during storms. The second-level warning for these districts also applies on Sunday (July 31).
For the districts of Prešov, Stropkov, Svidník and Vranov nad Topľou, the SHMÚ has issued second level storm warnings. They can be associated with a heavy downpour with an intensity of up to 50 millimeters of precipitation in 30 minutes, with strong gusts of wind and hail. The notice is valid until 3:00 p.m.
