“Foreigners think in terms of the original template: Russian means doping. They are protected, while others are slinged with mud.” Skier Sergey Volkov about disqualification – Skiing
Russian skier Sergei Volkov spoke about the situation with foreigners after a doping test.
Volkov was previously suspended for six months for an anti-doping violation. He himself explained that he used a nasal spray approved for the compensatory-jealous period, but did not study the excretion of the drug from the body.
– Foreign athletes spoke quite sharply about the upcoming event.
– Yes, I read interview since autumn, with Martin Merk, we have run at two youth world championships. It was very unpleasant that they were hiding. With the help of Truls Gisselman, we often corresponded in social networks, discussed music, sports and all sorts of topics in general. After the news about my violation, he wrote from me a very negative comment about himself.
“Truls, wrote why do you say that?” The journalist reported that I caught doping, and what comments were on his side. He, of course, said that it was very bad, but he did not go into details.
Truls and I exchanged numerous messages, I invited him to explain what really happened, and asked him not to comment further on a topic of which he is completely unaware. I would not have thought that foreigners would be so easily scattered about what they do not know. I was sure that their mentality did not allow them to claim that the truth was unknown. But I was wrong.
I have real friends only in Russia – they understood me, listened. Foreigners, as learned, you think in a natural pattern: once Russian, then doping. But we, like everyone else, observe a lot of doping tests, and we, like them, have individual accidents, like with the same Teresa Johaug and Martin Sundby.
They protect their compatriots, and pour mud on others. Nothing can be done about it, considering it impossible anyway. I will prove my case on the ski track,” Volkov said.
Teresa Yohaug did not break reproaches for doping lipstick – she conquered the 2022 Olympics and now says goodbye to sports
