Super League – Toulouse Olympique wastes a new cartridge against Hull FC – Rugby League
After their defeat against Salford, Toulouse Olympique wanted to relaunch with the reception of Hull FC at Ernest-Wallon.
Penultimate but tied on points with Wakefield, Toulouse could distance themselves from their direct competitor. Trinity face Castleford at 9 p.m. tonight. The start of the match is to the advantage of the Airlie Birds but nothing is marked on the first highlights. For his part, the TO does not need to be asked and scores on his first ammunition.
James Cunningham recovered a ball dropped by Hull FC in his ten yards to score. Chris Hankinson converts, 6 to 0. After taking control, Toulouse makes too many mistakes and too often returns the ball to the opponent. By dint of suffering, Sylvain Houlès’ men cracked in the 20th minute of play. Josh Simm took advantage of the good work of Jake Connor, 6 everywhere with the transformation.
Toulouse’s faults followed one another and the English took control thanks to a try from Ellis Longstaff, a few minutes after the first. Hull FC are in front and nothing is scored until the break, 6-10.
The TO XIII dominated
Upon returning from the locker room, the Toulouse are in difficulty because of their indiscipline but they will last more than 10 minutes without taking points. But in five minutes, the Olympians will crack twice. It was first rookie Will Smith who scored to make the break with the transformation of Luke Gale, 6-16.
Barely 5 minutes later, it is Jake Brown who is at the conclusion of a beautiful movement. The English striker passes the transformation then an ease to put the Toulousains to three converted tries, 6-24.
