regulated access between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.
The Annecy Genevois Hospital Center (Change) announced on July 27, in a press release, that in order to preserve emergencies and guarantee the reception of the most severe patients requiring hospital expertise, hospitals and clinics in the Haute-Savoie department implement, in a coordinated manner, regulation of access to emergency services from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. every night.
On these time slots, the population is asked not to go to the emergency room spontaneously but to call 15 before any trip. The regulating doctors of the Center 15 could thus, after evaluation, propose an orientation adapted to the state of health of the callers by medical advice, propose the orientation towards a doctor on call or set up a home visit.
If necessary, referral to the emergency department best suited to the person’s state of health or the organization of the intervention of an appropriate team (ambulance, SMUR) will be put in place. It should be noted that these provisions do not concern gyneco-obstetric and pediatric emergencies (for all the establishments concerned in the department).
During the day, outside these periods, people who go to the emergency room will be welcomed. Their state of health will be assessed by the nurse organizer of the emergency reception. If the patient is not in need of immediate hospital care, after medical validation, the emergency department will redirect him to a medical response in town corresponding to his state of health. During this period of high tension, health establishments, public and private, in conjunction with city professionals, also wish to recall the right reflexes to preserve emergencies.
Namely the need to first contact your treating doctor or the center 15 to, when appropriate, be taken care of by the permanence of outpatient care provided in town surgeries or by SOS doctors.
