Forest fire danger, DSB | Forest fire danger: Increased helicopter readiness in southern Norway
– DSB has made an assessment and is increasing preparedness with helicopters on extra alert from and including 29 July and three helicopters from and including 30 July to and including 1 August. The bases are Kjevik, Kjeller and Voss, writes the forest fire helicopter service on Twitter.
It has been sent out yellow hazard warning (moderate risk) for forest fire in Eastern Norway and parts of Agder. The danger lasts until there is enough rainfall.
The state’s forest fire helicopter is on standby from 15 April to 15 August. The use is coordinated by the Southern Norway Central Rescue Service (HRS).
Twice a week, DSB assesses the forest fire risk and which helicopter emergency response is needed.
