the fight against HIV continues
Princess Stéphanie and her children Pauline and Louis Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb were present at the evening.
Raising awareness of HIV and preventing new infections. These are the main missions of the Fight Aids Monaco association. Chaired by Princess Stéphanie, the association organized its traditional Summer Gala this Saturday July 23 at the Salle des Etoiles.
To raise funds and support the cause, the Gala raffle offered the chance to win a superb electric Fiat 500 and many other prizes. A total of 650 guests took part in the charity evening.
To end the dinner and the evening in style, Queen Machine set the stage on fire. The group covered the famous songs of Queen whose singer, Freddie Mercury, had been one of the first to reveal his HIV status. Then, a magnificent fireworks display illuminated the Principality.
A disease far from being eradicated
” People need to be reminded that the fight against HIV continues. Because of the pandemic, in many countries, there have been people who have had breaks in their treatment, who have not been tested in time and who are now suffering. said Princess Stephanie.
While the UN AIDS had set the end of the pandemic in 2030, this objective seems difficult to meet, as long as the number of cases continues to increase with 1.6 million more each year.
