Journey to shaman ‘should be paid for with cocaine’
By Anne Losensky
A drug lord’s excuse: “To get away from the search, I drove to the Amazon to see a shaman. The trip was to be managed with cocaine.”
District Court, Room 621. Accused: Pedro E. Da LA (44). An old acquaintance: It was not until March 2021 that the trained hairdresser was sentenced to 3 years and 10 months in prison by the Berlin district court (assistance in drug smuggling).
Now it’s about prison lookup for the Portuguese: aiding and abetting crimes that were seven years ago.
► In 2015, two women and a man from Berlin, Argentina, were caught by the Policia Seguridad Aeroportuaria (PSA) at Ezeiza Airport in Buenos Aires before boarding a plane bound for Germany. Each carried three kilograms of cocaine, hidden in prepared backpacks. Street value: over 630,000 euros.
“I didn’t recruit them, I just made contacts,” the barber claimed. “I booked the trip. We flew to Peru, where we parted ways. You are to Argentina. I fought my drug addiction with shamans in the Amazon. Carrying cocaine on the way back to Germany to finance the trip was probably a mistake on my part.”
According to the indictment, their backpacks were exchanged at a hostel in Buenos Aires. The trio is said to have landed roughly in South American prison. Judgment August 4th.
