Annecy: the bright future of Bloomer | Gilles Pudlowski’s blog
It’s the brand new and trendy table that stirs up the whole of Annecy. At the controls, a young team of enthusiasts, the partners, Pierre Marcolin and James Bloomer, the chef Cedric Vidal who worked at Georges Paccard at La Ciboulette for ten years, which gives the place a boost. The decor in the “British brasserie” style, sober and unfussy with its large counter. For a bit, we would imagine ourselves somewhere in London, between Chelsea and Picadilly.
The cuisine does not lack energy, which charms in the traveler genre, with arancini, gorgonzola and gremolata, gnocchi, parmesan and ham, burrata and pesto withwild garlic, beets, serac and coriander, trout and gyoza, braised prime rib dish with bbq sauce or pork belly confit with sake.
We add the “lemon twist”, which is a lemon pie revisited in the English “lemon curd” way, with its fine pie dough. On the wine side, the house is resourceful, and charming with an Arbois Chardonnay from the Domaine de la Pinte or the Chignin Bergeron “Summertime” from Ludovic Archer.
The house also makes coffee all day, welcomes from 9:30 am. Very reasonable prices. This is a place of the future…
