Airbus has (again) been able to seduce Condor. On Monday July 25, 2022, the European aircraft manufacturer announced an agreement to renew the fleet of this German airline with aircraft from the A320neo family. The agreement covers 41 devicesfor rent and direct purchase.
Condor will become an all-Airbus operator
This is not the first time that Condor and Airbus have done business. A year ago, the two actors had agreed to an order 16 A330neos. The German company wanted to renew its long-haul fleet, hitherto made up of Boeing 767.
“Following Condor’s decision to order the A330neo for its long-haul network, we are doubly grateful to the company for also choosing the Airbus A320neo Family to modernize its single-aisle fleet following a process We are proud of such a vote of confidence and welcome Condor as the future all-Airbus operator.”
In this month of July 2022, these are 41 A320neo and A321neo which have been ordered. “We continue to develop our fleet and our business consistently, while respecting our requirement to enable responsible and comfortable travel that emits significantly less CO2, consumes significantly less kerosene and is less noisy,” said Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor.
A company with an explosive look
A few months, the Condor planes sport a funny striped look in five colours: yellow, red, blue, green and beige. This new identity, designed under the direction of Remo Masala, a designer based in Berlin, is also noticeable on board the planes on the accessories but also on the outfits of the crew.
With this striped style, Condor wants to reconnect with “the essence of the Condor brand: holiday flight”. The “summer stripes” embodying, in the eyes of the creator, “joy and freedom”.
