Giacomo, the Monegasque trattoria of the Big Mamma group
The famous restaurant brand has just opened a new establishment in the Principality.
There is something new in the Larvotto landscape. At the very end of the beach, “Giacomo”, the latest addition to the Big Mamma restaurant group, has just opened its doors. The opportunity to taste delicious Italian specialties, feet in the sand.
Terrace facing the sea or very colorful room, the choice is yours! The idea is to take customers to Italy, more specifically Sicily, for an evening.
A colorful setting in the Principality
Behind the group, which has more than twenty restaurants spread between France, Spain, the United Kingdom and, now, Monaco, we found the entrepreneurs Victor Lugger and the Monegasque Tigrane Seydoux.
It is moreover to honor his origins that the latter wished to open an establishment in the Principality. ” I was born and raised herehe tells us. A large part of my family lives in Monaco, so it comes to my heart. I had the opportunity to open thanks to the call for tenders that was made. The idea was to offer simple, authentic, accessible cuisine with good products and good value for money. (…) I called this restaurant “Giacomo”, after my father’s first name. »

Besides the sentimental value, Tigrane wanted to make this restaurant a unique place: “ All our Big Mamma are different, no two are identical, whether for the decoration or the menu. Here we are close to the sea, we wanted to make a menu with fish, for example. The very lively decor, meanwhile, was chosen to contrast with the immaculate whiteness of the promenade. ” I wanted to create a colored box », adds Tigrane.
And when asked to define his concept, the answer sticks rather well to the place: ” a merry Italian brothel! Here, the waiters don’t lack energy, speak in Italian, have fun, sing I’m in love we Vivo by lei…
Our opinion
Quality and seasonal products, good value for money, warm atmosphere… The least we can say is that the specifications are met! With a smiling and dynamic service and an atypical decoration, you are transported to Italy as soon as you cross the threshold.
The numerous and refreshing cocktails are served in colorful and original glasses for a joyful and relaxed aperitif. As for the dishes, again, the quality is there! With a wide choice, good products and more than generous portions, you can only enjoy yourself. We personally recommend the “Wolfgang Amadeus Mozzarella”, a delicious slice of country bread topped with slices of mozzarella, grated bottarga and orange zest.

Of course, the pizza is essential, but to be preferred for very big appetites! As for the desserts, it’s up to you to opt, for example, for the Monte-Carlo, a mountain of flower milk ice cream to share, or for the Point G (Iacomo), a gourmet coffee with tiramisù, panna cotta to strawberry and dark chocolate mousse.
And as Tigrane promised, everything remains very accessible, with affordable prices given the quality and quantity of the products served. A new beautiful address to discover!
