Since the beginning of July, the Kishinkai Aïkido Toulouse school (KAT) has been offering outdoor discovery classes, on Mondays in the Salade aux Minimes park and on Thursdays in the Compans-Caffarelli garden.
Classes for everyone met in an open and friendly setting to make known both the discipline and the school established at Les Minimes since 2017. For Emmanuel Wildemann his teacher, “it is also a way to maintain contact with the students during the summer, and for those who practice another discipline during the year, to approach aikido”. Aikido, a 20th century Japanese martial art, is based on ancient schools over 400 years old. The Kishinkai school founded by Léo Tamaki brings together more than 500 practitioners in France. Its specificity lies in the way of moving in search of martial efficiency with a minimum of effort, without using force, by the simple perception of the intention and harmonization with the opponent’s movements. practice is halfway between hard aikido and healthy aikido. The goal is to prepare people to face an attack”, explains Emmanuel Wildemann. A volunteer teacher, he earns his living in cybersecurity. “Even if in this field the nature of the threats is different, I draw a parallel with the aikido which helps me to manage stress, to stay calm, and to know my limits”, he assures.
