Toulouse: too many traces in the abandoned car with 12.5 kg of cannabis
The judicial police arrested three individuals suspected of having forced a border police checkpoint in early October near Perpignan with 12.5 kg of drugs in their vehicle. The suspects deny but wait in prison awaiting their judgment.
Their passage before the Toulouse Criminal Court, this Thursday afternoon as part of the immediate comparisons, was quick. Encouraged by President Didier Suc, the members of this trio, defended by Mes Cécile Brandely and Jocelyn Momasso Momasso, accepted a report of their trial now decided on August 11. They will wait in detention as requested by the prosecution. “For me, it doesn’t change anything, I’m not at risk of escaping,” warns Youness, already housed in the Seysses remand center.
These boys aged 20, 24 and 28 are accused of having transported 12.5 kg of herbal cannabis in early October in the Pyrénées-Orientales. At the border, a car crossed with a border police control. The driver drove straight ahead but abandoned his car a few kilometers further.
“The Perpignan prosecutor’s office quickly divested itself in favor of that of Toulouse. Several elements suggested that the product should be delivered here”, slips a member of the territorial management of the Toulouse judicial police. A car whose owner is domiciled in the Pink City, fingerprints and DNA which also lead back to Toulouse… Investigators from the Ofast antenna have traced the wires.
With the support of their colleagues in Perpignan, on Tuesday they arrested a suspect in the Pyrénées-Orientales, several times convicted of drug imports. Despite the traces left on the cannabis packages, he does not swear to be involved in this importation. His Toulouse cousin presented himself to the police station. He vaguely remembers being in the car but swears he did not know he was carrying drugs. As for the youngest, who already accumulates drug offenses, he is waiting to be tried next week in another case… of drug trafficking and seems to take these new charges with a certain detachment.
