Two traffic accidents on the AP-8 motorway in Mendaro and Bilbao generate significant retentions

A traffic accident with four injured after a three-vehicle collision on the AP-8 motorway, as it passes through Mendaro (Gipuzkoa), towards Irun, has generated up to 8 kilometers of retentions early this afternoon. Likewise, another incident on the same motorway, in this case as it passed through Bilbao, with other vehicles involved, has caused traffic jams and slow traffic on the accesses to the Biscayan capital, in the direction of Cantabria.
As reported by the Basque Department of Security, the most important incident on Wednesday on Basque roads took place minutes before three in the afternoon on the AP-8 motorway, as it passed through the Gipuzkoan municipality of Mendaro, in the direction I run. The accident occurred after a multiple rear-end collision involving three vehicles; two cars and a truck. As a result of the crash, four people have been injured with different prognosis and have been evacuated to the Mendaro hospital.
Traffic has been interrupted while the vehicles were removed and the road was cleaned, which has caused significant traffic jams that have affected the AP-8 motorway in the Irún direction, generating up to 8 kilometers of traffic jams.
Around half past five in the afternoon, the Ertzaintza has reestablished circulation after the completion of the cleaning work on the road and the removal of the damaged vehicles.
On the other hand, in the early afternoon another serious accident occurred after the collision between three vehicles on the A-8 motorway, as it passed through Bilbao, towards Cantabria. Around 3:35 p.m., a truck, a van and a car that were traveling in the Cantabria direction have been involved in a collision that has resulted in the evacuation of an injured person to the hospital.
The mishap has caused traffic jams of up to four kilometers and slow traffic on the accesses to the Biscayan capital, in the direction of Santander.
