Laurent Banide was chosen to succeed Stéphane Guigo, who left for Soyaux (D1), on the bench of ASM FF (R1).
Without a club since 2019 and an experience at Oldham, in League Two, the equivalent of the English fourth division, Laurent Banide will return to service.
The former reserve and then Monaco first-team coach (2006-2007 and 2011) was chosen by ASM FF and its majority shareholder, the American group Peak6, to replace Stéphane Guigo, who left for Soyaux (D1 ), at the head of the first team which evolves in Regional 1.
His mission ? “Lead our flag team to the different national levels”points to the press release announcing his appointment.
The Monegasque players were eliminated this summer by Toulouse in the D2 accession play-offs. With the reform of the championships initiated by the FFF, it is the D3 that it will target this season.
To reach this goal, “new means and skills will be implemented”promises Peak6, through the voice of the former president of AS Monaco Jérôme de Bontin (2008-2009).
“The Club is delighted to welcome such an experienced coach whose family name will always make the hearts of Monegasques vibrate”is it still written.
