The Public Prosecution Service (OM) demanded a prison sentence of three months. But the judge spoke of a unique case and around it a prison sentence of five months: “You used her just like that, out of the blue. Unacceptable.”
‘This is really not possible’
The judge paid special attention to the fact that this first suspect was committed. “We are talking about a fairly new phenomenon here. It is terrible what you have done, it really cannot be. It must be clear that this will not be tolerated. This has to stop.”
Needle spiking
Recently, there have been more reports of people who say they have been pricked with a needle while going out and who suspect that they have been injected with drugs. Much is unclear about this phenomenon of needle spiking.
The suspect was found in drugs during the festival. V. himself acknowledged that he had a syringe with him, but he said he never stabbed anyone with it.
Victim very shocked
He recently had a toothache and that’s why he had the syringe with him, V. told the judge. “I become something of something I didn’t do.” His lawyer states that there is no evidence that V. has called in anyone and asked for acquittal. V. said immediately after the announcement that he wants to appeal.
The victim was very shocked, her lawyer said. She’s had several tests – and is due to do a few more – to make sure she wasn’t infected by a possible needle.
