AS Monaco attack Leicester midfielder Boubakary Soumaré
AS Monaco is in no hurry. More than a month after the departure of Aurélien Tchouaméni to Real Madrid for 100 M€, the club of the Principality has not yet signed his replacement in the midfield. Paul Mitchell, the sporting director of Monaco, has wanted to take his time and a targeted profile for several weeks: that of Boubakary Soumaré (23 years old).
Interest has become concrete in recent days with a first Monegasque offer to Leicester City estimated at 12.5 million euros, excluding bonuses that could increase the transfer to 15 million euros. The English refused this proposal, but AS Monaco intends to return to the charge by making a second offer.
Rodgers will not oppose its sale
Arrived from Lille in 2021 against 20 M€, and under contract until 2026, the French international Espoirs (14 selections) has not yet acted on a departure from Leicester. The 2016 English champions will allow their squad to be reduced and Brendan Rodgers will not oppose the sale of the Frenchman. The English leaders, however, would like to be able to recover their investment. An amount that Monaco is not willing to reach.
Negotiations will continue around this second Monegasque offer. In parallel, Paul Mitchell has already activated other tracks in midfield.
